Fried Egg on Toast with Hot Sauce

A perfectly fried egg with crispy lacy edges on buttered toast. Never gets old.

  1. Fry the eggs

    Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a small pan over medium high heat until foamy and just starting to brown. Crack the 2 large eggs into the pan and season immediately. Let the whites set and the edges go lacy and crispy while the yolk stays runny, about 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Serve

    Slide the eggs onto buttered sourdough and add hot sauce. Eat immediately.

Slop Notes

High heat and enough fat is what creates the crispy, lacy white edges. Do not be shy.
