Pan Con Tomate

The Catalan classic. Ripe tomato rubbed directly onto garlicky toasted bread.

  1. Rub

    Rub 1 halved garlic clove firmly over 2 slices of hot toast. Rub 1 halved tomato over the toast, squeezing gently to stain the bread red.

  2. Finish

    Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and flaky salt.

Slop Notes

The tomato must be very ripe and the bread must be hot. This is one of the great simple pleasures of eating.
